How we review and compare UK casinos.

Our reviews are written by editors, not by operators. This page explains what we look at, what we deliberately leave out, and how the editorial score on each comparison card is built.

Which operators we include

We focus on online casino brands that hold a current UK Gambling Commission licence and that have been trading long enough to review honestly. We do not include offshore casinos, brands that target UK players without a UK licence, or operators with an active enforcement issue we cannot account for.

Six criteria, weighted

  • Licensing & trust (20%). Current UK licence, operator history, public enforcement record.
  • Lobby & usability (15%). Search, filters, page weight, clarity of category structure.
  • Term clarity (20%). Whether wagering, time limits, eligible games and country rules sit on the offer page.
  • Payments (15%). Methods supported in the UK, deposit and withdrawal limits, stated processing times.
  • Mobile build (10%). How the site holds up on smaller phones, including the cashier and account screens.
  • Safer gambling visibility (20%). How easy it is to find limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion.

Each criterion is rated on a 1–10 scale by an editor. The card score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal place. Scores are comparative across the brands we review — they are not official ratings, and no operator endorses them.

What we do

  • Open an account where practical and complete identity verification ourselves.
  • Walk through deposit, withdrawal and bonus screens before writing the review.
  • Read the live promotion terms on the day of review and quote them as they are.
  • Re-check reviews when promotions or operator behaviour change in a material way.

What we do not do

  • We do not copy operator marketing copy into reviews.
  • We do not publish reader testimonials we cannot verify.
  • We do not invent player numbers, payout figures or win stories.
  • We do not let affiliate commission change a score or ranking.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error in a review, please contact the editors. We will check it, correct it where needed and note the change in the review history.
